The LEADeres program at Ferris State University has increased Latino representation at the school and continues to create new leaders and stakeholders throughout the West Michigan community.

LAUP ¡Fiesta! makes strong comeback

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a beloved Holland tradition returned over the weekend. Thousands gathered for ¡Fiesta!, an annual celebration of Latino heritage and cultures sponsored by LAUP.

Beginning in March, the Momentum Center will begin offering services in the former home of Community Action House at 345 W. 14th St. in Holland.
Voter registration, vaccines, and town hall meet and greet

Bringing together a number of services needed right now, the Momentum Center of Holland and Grand Haven will help people register to vote, receive a COVID-19 vaccine, and meet other likeminded people in a stigma-free setting this month.

Latin Americans United for Progress' Fiesta has returned to the Civic Center after a COVID-induced hiatus and several years at a different location. The return to the festival roots and the change in date is no coincidence, organizers say.
