The Momentum Center is collaborating with the Ottawa County Clerk’s office to provide voter registration at their Grand Haven and Holland locations this month. The Ottawa County Department of Public Health will also be onsite providing free COVID-19 vaccinations.

Two July events

On Tuesday, July 12, voter registration and vaccinations will be available 5 to 7 p.m. at their Holland location, 345 W. 14th St.

On Thursday, July 14, voter registration and vaccinations will be available 1 to 3 p.m. at their Grand Haven location, 714 Columbus Ave. The (Anti) Racism Task Force Town Hall Meet & Greet will also take place at this time.

The meet and greet in Grand Haven will offer an opportunity for anyone who has participated in the virtual town hall meetings over the past two years to meet one another in person. This meet and greet is also open to anyone who would like to meet the (Anti) Racism Task Force team or ask any questions about their work.

“These events will provide needed opportunities for individuals with critical services including registering to vote, receiving vaccinations, and a chance to meet one another in a stigma-free space,” said Momentum Center’s Barbara Lee VanHorrsen. “The offerings support the health of our community at a time when it’s much needed.”

To qualify to register to vote you must be 18 years old by Election Day and have a valid driver’s license, state ID, or the last four digits of your social security number. Voter registration will also be provided on 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Holland location and 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 in Grand Haven.

The Momentum Center, located in Grand Haven and Holland, is a grassroots movement to create a stigma-free community. It does this by hosting community conversations and operating The Momentum Center for Social Engagement that addresses mental illness, addictions, and disabilities. The Momentum Center in Grand Haven also houses the Momentum Café and operates Just Goods Gifts.
