June things to do: Pride, Parade of Homes, Heritage Fest, Father’s Day, Juneteenth and Celtic Festival

Music, movies, arts, theater, and crafts meet history, heritage, street performers, and vintage baseball in this month’s calendar. You’re sure to find something that piques your interest this month.

Head to Hackley Park on June 12-13 to enjoy a Taste of Muskegon. The festival, celebrating its 20th year, features food, beverages, live music, a kids’ zone, and ax-throwing.

Whether you’re into farmers’ markets or music, history or cars, comedy or movies, tractors or trucks, there’s something for you in this month’s list of events. For those looking to get active, there’s a youth sports camp and the Zeeland Zoom (events for adults and kids), and the luge park in Muskegon is hosting a day of universal accessibility, where everyone — regardless of ability — can experience the zip line, wheel luge, rock climbing, and more.

If you’re into art, you can get creative yourself at either (or both) of the chalk events and/or any of the craft activities in the list. There are a couple of art festivals in the calendar, and MMA is opening a new exhibit about women in animation.

If history’s more your thing, From Mansion to Main Street is an all-day tour of three West Michigan museums/historic sites, and the Coopersville & Marne Railway invites you to experience a great train robbery, as in days of old.

If you’re interested in puttin’ on the dog, there are a few fancy gatherings this month. Oh, and Spring Lake has an eagle’s nest livestream, which seems really interesting to me.

June offers a wide variety of things to do in Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. This list includes options for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or interest.
