The Muskegon Parks & Recreation Department kicks off its open skating at Trinity Health Arena on Sunday, Nov. 5, and the first Sunday of the month through March.

The November calendar is chock full o’ stuff to do. There’s an exhibit-closing event, an annual gathering, a turkey trot, and several tree-lighting events throughout West Michigan.

Independence Day is celebrated across the country, and the Lakeshore is no exception. Fireworks will streak across the sky in many Lakeshore communities. July events also include LAUP’s Fiesta, theater, garden walks, and street performances.

Things to do in May: Festivals, exhibits, shows, Memorial Day observances

There are many things to do along the Lakeshore in May, from Tulip Time in Holland to the annual Kite Festival in Grand Haven. There are also plays, concerts, exhibits, a craft fair, an adventure run and Memorial Day observances.   

The documentary, “Unseen: How We’re Failing Parent Caregivers & Why It Matters,” explores the lives of parent caregivers for children and adults who are disabled.

The public is invited to a Feb. 26 screening of a documentary that looks at parent caregivers for children and adults who are disabled or medically complex, and their lack of support from society.
