Feeding the soul and the mind: How KDL serves lifelong learners in the aging population

Kent District Library offers specific, catered services to best reach its aging patrons throughout the community. By utilizing the Talking Book & Braille Center, pop-up libraries and bookmobile visits to local retirement centers and assisted living centers, KDL aims to serve lifelong learners and readers.

Seats in on-campus classes still available in final week before GRCC’s fall 2021 semester starts

It's not too late to sign up for classes at GRCC. There are openings in nearly 400 on-campus classes, with time remaining to enroll before the Aug. 30 start of the fall 2021 semester. GRCC staff will be available to answer questions at two Service Saturday events on Aug. 28.

Grand Rapids Community College is celebrating the opening of its Lakeshore Campus in Holland. A ribbon-cutting — attended by GRCC President Bill Pink and Ottawa County leaders — kicked off events that introduced the new campus to the community.

Spring Lake Village Council members and other local officials gathered Aug. 21 to officially launch the construction project by turning shovels during a groundbreaking ceremony at the riverfront park.

Over the past few years, the Muskegon Innovation Hub has been able to continuously increase its economic impact within the lakeshore community. Though the Hub has experienced change both internally and within its membership over the past year and a half, overall, reports remain positive. Kevin Ricco, the Hub’s director, is optimistic about what is to come, especially for those businesses that are prepared.
