October things to do: Art Nouveau, Dia de los Muertos, jazz, Motown, and plenty of Halloween fun
Whether you’re into music, art, movies, history, crafts, or something entirely different, you’ll be able to find it in our October list of things to do along the Lakeshore.

Fall is in full swing, and the air is getting crisp, which we all know is code for colder. The leaves are turning — and falling — and here’s what else is happening along the Lakeshore this month. The Big Read is back, as are the skeletons in Bones About Town and the Pumpkin Train. There’s a film festival, a discussion on saving democracy, musical shows, nature classes, cemetery tours, art exhibits, even a funeral history event. Plus, of course, there are a lot of pumpkin-related activities — festivals, decorating, and centerpieces — and fall- and Halloween-related events, especially trick-or-treating. October offers a wide variety of things to do in Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. This list includes options for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or interest.
