What’s happening: A new event is coming to Muskegon to help entrepreneurs, small business owners, and professionals connect, learn, and access valuable local resources. The Lakeshore Business Growth Expo will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Muskegon Innovation Hub, 200 Viridian Drive in Muskegon.

What’s behind it: The Expo is organized by a coalition of entrepreneurial partners, including the Muskegon Innovation Hub at Grand Valley State University, Greater Muskegon Economic Development, Grow, Left Coast Capital Resources, the Michigan Small Business Development Center, Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, Northern Initiatives, SCORE business counselors, and the Chamber of Commerce Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Ferrysburg.

What they’re saying: “The event planning was inspired by the SBDC Business and Financial Fair in Grand Rapids,” says Ed Garner, regional director of the Michigan Small Business Development Center. “We’ve seen growing demand for the topics and services featured at that event and wanted to bring this opportunity to the Lakeshore area.”

Who it’s for: The event is designed for startup founders, seasoned entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and corporate innovators. The Expo will feature networking opportunities, business resources, and exhibitor booths highlighting the best of West Michigan’s business community.

What’s on the agenda: Breakout sessions will explore strategic planning, AI in marketing, and financing options, along with one-on-one consultations with business experts. The event is free and open to all small business owners and entrepreneurs. Attendees can network with more than 250 business leaders from across the Lakeshore region, explore more than 20 exhibitor booths, and build strategic partnerships in a vibrant, collaborative atmosphere.

Who’s backing it: Sponsors include Choice One Bank, Huntington Bank, Route 31 Credit Union, and Independent Bank. While the event is free for attendees, exhibitor registration is required. Learn more here
