July things to do: Celebrate America’s 250th birthday, LAUP Fiesta, Coast Guard Fest, county fairs
Several communities are hosting Fourth of July celebrations, and some discussions on the history of the U.S. In addition to movies, garden tours, car shows, bike rides, and fishing events, there are lots of music shows, including one featuring the ’80s pop star Tiffany.

There are lots of family activities in this month’s calendar — Fourth of July celebrations (can you believe the USA is 250 years old?), Muskegon and Ottawa counties’ fairs, Fiesta in Holland, and the Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven — each offering a multitude of events that promise fun for all. That’s in addition to the many movies, concerts, shows, street performances, historic walks, and educational opportunities that usually populate this space. July offers a wide variety of things to do in Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. This list includes options for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or interest.
